Location/Division Specific Information
At our Karlsruhe, Germany site you’ll be part of multi-disciplinary R&D team that develops scientific software, rheological instruments and extrusion machinery that enable our customers to solve research and industrial problems.
Senior Software Engineer (m/f/d)
As a Software Engineer (m/f/d) with strong math skills and an interest in scientific applications, you will create and improve software algorithms that enable our customers to solve new problems or simplify their analysis work.
What will you do?
Leverage the latest technologies for scientific algorithms to solve customer problems
Perform all phases of software development for our company’s scientific software
Work with a cross-functional team to turn customer needs into software products
Collaborate with our application and R&D team to bring innovative features into our product development pipeline
You will bring your ability to develop software that solves numerical and data problems to our software development team. You will collaborate with a dedicated software team and a wider cross-functional R&D team to produce scientific software for our customers.
How will you get here?
Education
Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software, Computer Systems Engineering or related scientific field required or Bachelor’s Degree with many years related experience
Experience
Proficient with Microsoft development environments including C#, .NET Framework
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Strong software development and problem solving skills
Ability to interpret, refine and visualize data to support problem solving
Ability to identify and create algorithmic solutions to customer and product problems
Familiarity with machine learning is a plus
Familiarity with rheological or extrusion applications is a plus
Familiarity with interface-based object oriented software design
Highly motivated team player with a strong desire for continuous learning and broadening knowledge base
