Job purpose/role
The team of AIM Investment Management Life/Health in Stuttgart designs and implements the investment strategy of the German Life and Health insurance entities. Allianz is the by far leading life insurance business in Germany and our asset base accounts for almost half of all insurance related investment assets at Allianz Group. As such, we cooperate closely with our colleagues within the global network of AIM as well as our internal and external asset managers, developing our investment strategy and adapting it to the specific needs of the portfolios we manage.

You will be part of the Portfolio Management team and drive the development of our quantitative portfolio steering platform. As a member of a cross-functional team you will plan and implement cloud applications for every step along the AIM investment value chain. You will have the opportunity to apply your experience in advanced analytics, computer science and other modern technologies to the effective and efficient management of our 300bn+ German Life and Health investment portfolios.
Key responsibilities

Develop cloud native applications for portfolio analytics and steering
Automate data-driven processes and improve their resilience
Explore artificial intelligence and machine learning approaches to support our portfolio steering (e.g. models for approximating impacts from change in capital markets or investment strategy)
Use your data analysis skills to answer complex data-driven questions with regard to our investment portfolio and its KPIs
Engage in the Allianz digital community with focus on knowledge and best practice sharing across hubs and teams

Key requirements / Skills / Experience

Master’s degree in computer science, information technology, (financial) mathematics, data science, business informatics or other quantitative areas
3+ years of work experience
Strong IT and programming skills in languages like Python, Java, C# or C++
Proven interest in the financial sector (banking, investment, insurance etc.) and in the investment management business
Knowledge of data analysis and (statistical) machine learning models
Experience with cloud technology, docker, distributed computing (e. g. Spark) is a plus
Ideally good knowledge of SQL database, experience in understanding and manipulating complex data from diverse sources
Interest in financial modeling and investment instruments
Team player, ready to take over responsibility, passionate about digital transformation, getting-things-done mentality
