Network Security Engineer (f/m/d)

With a team of experienced colleagues, you are ensuring the maximum possible service availability and performance for DE-CIX‘ Service Connect Platform. Located within the Infrastructure & Operations team, the Network Security Engineers are responsible for managing and enhancing our global firewalling and VPN services. You will be mainly responsible for:
Ensuring stable and reliable IT services with focus on network security
Day-to-day network performance monitoring as well as improving our measurement methodologies
Troubleshooting and fault analysis; hardware troubleshooting and repair.
Design and Deployment of services either on-premises or cloud based
Improve the constantly ongoing automation of our platform
Participate in a 24×7 call-out rotation.

What’s important to us:
Strong networking skills (Ethernet, IP, Routing)
Experience in network security engineering, vendors (e.g. Fortinet) as well as in operations of network security in Cloud and Container based environments (e.g. Azure, K8s)
Ability to automate your work by using scripting or programming languages (e.g. bash, perl, python)
Knowledge in monitoring tools (e.g. Zabbix)
Able to analyze problems and conduct effective fault diagnosis and system recovery.
A reliable, structured and independent way of working, as well as good communication skills
Your professional experience in a comparable position, team spirit, interest in leading edge technologies and a love of learning new things are more important to us than your academic qualifications.
