Finally, time has come for software and artificial intelligence to revolutionise the legal profession – and Bavaria is determined to play a leading role in this transformation. If you want to become the anchorperson in this LegalTech innovation endeavour, then become our Director of the LegalTech Colab, powered by the TUM Venture Labs. We are building world-class support for scalable, commercially successful start-up teams in LegalTech, hosted in Munich’s prime new innovation centre, the Munich Urban Colab. The ecosystem will include leading LegalTech groups, university research, law firms, industry, and the public sector. Embedded in the interdisciplinary Venture Labs initiative of TUM and UnternehmerTUM, innovation hubs for future megamarkets are currently being created in Munich and its surroundings. The LegalTech Colab aims to establish a strong infrastructure and network, in which emerging start-ups are supported from the early mobilisation and discovery phase all the way to the incorporation and first capital round. Director LegalTech Colab (m/f/x)
Your mission
Build up – The LegalTech Colab initiative, embedded in the ground-breaking TUM Venture Labs.
Lead – Full operative responsibility of managing a group of people supporting talents and start-up teams across the entire life-cycle: mobilisation, conception, team building, incubation, and acceleration.

Network – Represent the LegalTech Colab externally and build a strong network within relevant technology and industry sectors as well as existing Legal Tech initiatives (e.g., Denkfabrik Legal Tech).

Create a community – Expand and manage the partner network of academics across all institutions, and legal professionals in public and private entities.

Integrate the TUM and UnternehmerTUM ecosystem – Become an integrated member in the closely-knit network of the TUM Venture Labs, and align closely with stakeholders in academia, TUM start-up coaching resources, the UnternehmerTUM programs, and other initiatives (e.g., MLTech).

Develop & implement domain-specific offerings – Be responsible for developing, planning, and implementing domain-specific education and venturing modules as part of our vast offering to build a stable pipeline of sustainable start-up teams.
Your profile
Business and legal background with 3+ years of project management/leadership experience in academics, venture capital, law firms, strategic consulting, start-ups or corporate environment; entrepreneurship experience is a strong asset.

Degree in Law or secondary degree in Computer Science or Business; cross-functional experience is a plus.
Entrepreneurial mindset with apparent enthusiasm for high-tech innovation in the legal field.
Profound social and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and cultivate a highly dynamic team.

Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and German with a high level of comfort communicating effectively across internal and external organisations across hierarchies.
